Part A – Hospital Insurance

Part B – Medical Insurance

Helps cover:

  • Services from doctors and other health care providers
  • Outpatient care
  • Home health care
  • Durable medical equipment (like wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, and other equipment and supplies)
  • Many preventive services (like screenings, shots, and yearly “wellness” visits)

OPTIONAL: Part D – Prescription Drug Coverage

Helps cover:

  • Cost of prescription drugs

Part D plans are run by private insurance companies but are required to follow rules set by Medicare.

YOU CAN ADD: Supplemental Coverage

Examples: Coverage from a Medicare Supplement Insurance/Medigap which provides services from any doctor any hospital anywhere in the United States that accepts medicare or coverage from a former employer or union.

Some Medicare Advantage plans may also include lower out-of-pocket costs. Beneficiary must reside in the area or county where services are provided.
